Press Setup Technician

Hitachi Powdered Metals (USA), Inc., (HPMA) a supplier of automotive valve train component parts to major automotive manufacturers in North America. Headquartered in Greensburg, Indiana, HPMA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Press Set-up Technician.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set-up, troubleshoot, and repair molding presses, including multi-level presses.


• Observe, measure, and record products/processes to ensure product quality.


• Preform/support preventive maintenance pertaining to press repair and setup issues.


• Maximize equipment utilization and quality.


• Clean, maintain, and organize tooling adaption.




• Perform all assignments safely, including such tasks as lifting properly, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and following all safety policies and procedures at all times.


• Maintain a clean and orderly work area utilizing the 6S policy in regards to policies, procedures, and daily activities.




• Advanced mechanical aptitude with a demonstrated ability to visualize operation of mechanisms and troubleshoot/repair machinery.


• Previous press set-up experience required.


• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical equipment.


• Ability to read and understand procedures, process sheets, etc.


• Ability to do basic math calculations.


• Must be able to troubleshoot machinery.


• Must be able to work in a team environment.



Desired Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints.


• Basic computer skills.


• Knowledge of powdered metal presses.


• Knowledge of automation equipment and robots.

While performing the duties of this position, the associate may be required to stand, sit, and/or walk for long periods of time. Associate is required to lift 50 lbs. repetitively.
